Hello, Fellow Artists and Art Lovers! Last week I posted a blog about the value of working in a series. This week I'm going to share some ideas to inspire your creativity. It's a good idea to come up with a theme for your work. Artist and teacher, Robert Burroughs, suggests a thesaurus to find variations on a word that may relate to your design. Subject matter can be realistic or abstract or moving from one to the other.
Here are some ideas from artist Marianne Brown: - develop a new space arrangement - leave something out - paint part of an original idea (a painting from a painting) - change colors or values - limit colors - mix up the media ie. oil pastel, soft pastel, charcoal, crayons, Inktense pencils, acrylics, markers, gesso, powdered graphite - change the light source
